zoals je kunt zien zijn dit 6 verschillende schilderijen, gemaakt voor de Liebig Compagnie : publicaties voor publiciteit;

as you can see, these are 6 different paintings, made for the Liebig Compagnie : publications for publicity
the photographed set is one of a collection of aquarelles …I have once again som of these VERY RARE to find. They are unique because only one drwing fo such a card exists. These had to be printed all around anno1900, original paintings in water colors, very fine drawings which were used to be reproduced .... after evaluation by the director of the Liebig Company , .... they had to be painted again by the artist, this time on the on the stone printing press ... in ONE color on the stone and then again and again in the other colors. These 6 real aquarelles were the artists proof sets for the Liebig Companie for producing a printed version of them on cards .... which had to be distributed, accompanying their product ( Flasks of bouillon ) in the selling shops . It was months work to make such set. From just a thought to the start of the producing a set was a hell of a job : library work, to have a explanation and publicity on the back of the cards, and many artistic try outs, to become the right effect. The company's whole archive = own artistic proof collection, started in 1872, has been sold in 1962 by the Liebig company in an auction sale to favor the Belgian RED CROSS. Very rare and unique sets were sold in a public auction. .
“ANTIQUE and painted with a brush with only one or few more hairs .... must have been painted before the production of the printed sets. so the whole project to make the set started a few years before that, presumably around 1900 ordered a painter to paint the miniature just to see and evaluate how the printed set would look like. And see how abd where text must be added in, the position of the Liebig-logo-text for German sets FLEISH EXTRACT under-or-above the image : cut out from earlier printings and glued on the card. Same for the position of the pot (lid-box-encadrement, also cut out from earlier printings on printed cards, and glued on the painting; All this : just to show how the end-product should be represent a gift for the children to collect the printed sets. . Then these images had to be painted exactly same on the hand- press-litho stones to be reproduced. So the cards we present here are really unique artifacts from the Companiy's efforts to distribute a fine hand-over present for their products, in all countries worldwide.
all set-numbers are listed in my FREE online catalogue , with all the titels in many languages, all cards photographed, dated, dimensions, date of first edition, illustrators and printers AND all numerings in all catalogues worldwide
